Become our International Alumni Mentor

2020 has been a challenging year for the whole world. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an unprecedented economic downturn and an exceptionally competitive graduate job market. The global employment landscape facing our international students is uncertain and it would be reassuring for them to get some extra support.

This is why we would like to invite you to participate in the University of Adelaide International Alumni Mentoring Program. This is a new program that creates value by connecting the past with the present. The program will give you the opportunity to support and encourage the next generation of international university graduates through this time of uncertainty and challenge.

Some of you may already have experience as a professional mentor and for others it may be your first time. Your availability and commitment to this program will be greatly appreciated by the University of Adelaide community and as mentors you will receive ongoing support from our award-winning Careers team on meeting topics, communication and evaluations throughout the program.

Some of the topics of discussion could include:

  • Your own career pathway
  • Major career decisions you made
  • Organisational culture
  • Professional networking
  • Employment market at home and abroad
  • How COVID-19 has changed your industry
  • Challenges facing you or your industry
  • Future directions for your industry

At the University of Adelaide, we believe there will be great opportunities arising from the uncertainties and disruption in the world today. We believe that future leaders will emerge from our university, not just leaders in Australia or Asia, but global leaders who are able to make a contribution to solve critical worldwide issues. If you would like to be a part of shaping these future leaders, we would be delighted if you could register your interest in our International Alumni Mentoring Program.
