In Career Services of course we've heard rumours and we know that some of the graduate programs out there are changing (either in timing or hiring numbers... we've published news about these over the last few weeks). But... in exciting news our industry has been crunching the numbers and we have some news to share.....

Comparing year on year 2019-2020 opportunity availability has seen a 'no change' and up to 9.7% INCREASE in graduate roles advertised since March. These numbers are across three major graduate job-hunting site providers including our own site here in CareerHub! Now, we know this may not feel right to you but what it means is that the total number of opportunities is the same or more in 2020 compared to last year when comparing across all industries and graduate job sites.

Every year of course there are changes (or we call them 'ebb and flow') of where opportunities are available. Right now there are more remote opportunities, more tech opportunities, more in healthcare, social assistance, allied health, education and more while roles in other sectors have decreased.

It's important to keep on top of industry changes and know how this impacts on your job hunting.

We also know more employers will be opening programs later this year.

So - as there are lots of ways for you to broaden your network and even create your own opportunity during these times - chat to Careers if you need a hand to tailor your own personal job hunting strategy.
