Congratulations to the 138 students who achieved the Adelaide Graduate Award in Semester 1! The Award formally recognises students for developing employability skills through extra-curricular activities (including paid work and volunteering).

The program is open to all enrolled University of Adelaide students and is an excellent way to boost your experience, highlight your extra-curricular achievements, and stand out to potential employers.

Three of our recent Award recipients, Kristen, Rohan, and Amy, shared their rewarding experiences of the Adelaide Graduate Award program.

Kristen Lucas, a domestic student who studied a Bachelor of Media and Bachelor of International Studies:

“The biggest benefit for me was getting to meet and work with new people through a range of different social, cultural and creative experiences.

The Award helped me step out of my comfort zone and increase my self-awareness. Participating in activities for the Award, I was able to identify my personal and professional strengths as well as working on developing the skills I was less comfortable with.

I truly think participating in the Award can be life changing! Not only is trying out different extra-curricular activities a lot of fun, but with each experience you will gain new skills and discover more about yourself and your future pathway.”

Rohan Goyal, an international student completing a Master of International Management:

"I feel the activities I undertook made me a more confident individual, helped me develop my communication skills, and be a part of the community.

I would recommend fellow students to participate in this award because it helps students learn a lot about themselves as they undertake various activities and interact with a range of individuals, while gaining experience and meaningful connections."

Amy T. Han, a domestic student who studied a Master of Marketing:

“I've gained a lot of skills and experiences outside of my studies through this program. Some are practical skills such as communication and networking skills that have boosted my confidence. Those skills enabled me to build my professional network, and they will be beneficial to my future career.

I strongly encourage current students to enrol in the Adelaide Graduate Award program. It's beneficial for building your employability and also it acts like having a sprinkle of icing on the cake of your degree by the time you complete your study here at the University.”

The Adelaide Graduate Award is a free employability program that helps you get more out of your university experience through self-guided participation in volunteering, professional development, and paid work. If you are a current student, you can register for the Adelaide Graduate Award now.
