DIAC is encouraging students impacted by the changes to its general skilled migration program to consider their options for when their current visa expires. These changes were announced on 8 February 2010 and transitional arrangements were offered for people holding student visas at that time. The opportunity to apply for a Temporary Skilled Graduate visa using the former Skilled Occupation List closes at the end of 2012. Students wishing to stay in Australia should consider their intentions early as visa application processes can take time. Further information is available on the attached factsheet, which is also available at www.immi.gov.au/students/news/2010/international-students.htm

Information tools are available at www.immi.gov.au/students/8-feb-students.htm.
