Jay (Zheng) Cheah, a University of Adelaide's Master of Applied Finance graduate has been inducted into the Bloomberg Institute Hall of Fame for Asia and Pacific region.

The Bloomberg Hall of Fame recognises top students who have performed well in the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT). It is a standardised global online exam for college and university students, developed by the Bloomberg Institute in collaboration with leading academics and business professionals around the world.

The BAT is both comprehensive and objective covering topics such as business, finance and economics and skills such as analytical reasoning. In addition to testing academic knowledge - the BAT exam assesses a person's aptitude providing a measure of their overall ability to be successful in these fields.

Jay has had a successful and diverse career to date. Having studied Electronics Engineering in Malaysia, his career led him into Software Engineering and he quickly progressed into project management roles. Jay worked in both Malaysia and Singapore before deciding that he wanted to know about how companies make their business decisions. With this in mind, Jay balanced his post-graduate studies and work, studying part time in Singapore in the finance sector. He recently moved to Adelaide and completed his Masters of Finance full time at the University of Adelaide in July 2013.

Having been recognised for his high results in the recent round of testing, Jay was ranked in the top two Asia and Pacific participants for the month of September in the Hall of Fame.

The Careers Service would like to congratulate Jay for his exceptional performance in the BAT and we look forward to hearing about his next steps as he transitions from his strong career in Engineering to his future in Financial Services.
