Two Cowan Roseworthy Scholarships are offered each year to commencing or continuing students who are undertaking a program of study at the Roseworthy Campus and residing at the Roseworthy Residential College. Applicants must be supported by a reference from either their school or the Rural Counsellor’s Network. Preference may be given to applicants from a rural or regional background.

These Scholarships are open to students who are Australian citizens or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of Australia and will provide $5,000 for one year.

Selection for this scholarship will be made according to academic merit and financial need.

Applicants need to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of applying e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.

Applicants also need to provide evidence of potential for tertiary study from a referee who can comment personally and confidentially on:

  • Suitability for further study
  • Study habits
  • Value of the Cowan Scholarship to the nominee and family.
